HIFU Aftercare: The First 24 Hours, the First Week, and Beyond

HIFU aftercare is refreshingly simple — but the few rules that exist protect your result while collagen builds. Here is the practical week-by-week guide.

The first 24 hours

Immediately after HIFU your skin may look mildly flushed and feel warm or tender — comparable to the glow after brisk exercise. There is nothing to dress or bandage: the surface was never broken. You can wash your face gently the same day with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water.

For the first day, keep everything gentle. Skip vigorous rubbing or massage of the treated areas, postpone intense workouts that flush the face, and avoid strong heat — saunas, steam rooms, very hot showers. Hold off on strong active skincare (retinoids, exfoliating acids) for a day or two if your skin feels sensitive. Makeup is generally fine once any redness has settled, usually within hours.

The first week — protecting the response
