Who this page is for
Pico laser results depend on pigment type, depth, and your skin tone — all confirmed at a doctor's assessment before any session is booked.
Melasma that keeps coming back
Hormonally influenced pigment that creams alone haven't stabilised — you want a doctor-planned course, not a one-off zap.
Sun spots and freckles
Discrete spots or diffuse tone unevenness from years of sun — often the most responsive pigment type.
Marks left behind by old breakouts
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that lingers months after the acne itself has cleared.

You're researching pico laser prices between Singapore and JB and want doctor-performed treatment either way.
— What this involves
How pico laser works
Pico lasers deliver energy in picosecond pulses — a thousand times shorter than older Q-switched lasers. The ultra-short pulse shatters pigment particles photo-mechanically rather than by heat, which generally means better fragmentation per session and less thermal stress on the surrounding skin — a meaningful consideration for Asian skin tones where excess heat can trigger new pigmentation.
At your consultation, the doctor confirms what your pigment actually is — melasma, sun damage, post-inflammatory marks, or a combination — because each behaves differently and needs different settings. Undiagnosed or suspicious lesions are reviewed medically first, never lasered on assumption.
Sessions are quick (typically 15–30 minutes) with minimal downtime: mild redness for a few hours and, sometimes, temporary darkening of treated spots before they fade. Most pigment concerns need a planned series of 4–8 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, alongside strict daily sun protection.
What determines the cost? Pigment type and depth, the area treated, and the number of sessions your skin realistically needs. We do not publish prices — you receive a personalised, written plan and quote after the doctor has assessed your skin. WhatsApp us a photo of your pigmentation and we can usually give you a preliminary view within minutes.
— Why DrPlus
Why patients choose DrPlus for pico laser
Diagnosis-first pigment care — the laser is a precision tool, and it only works when it's pointed at the right diagnosis.
Pigment type, depth and skin tone are confirmed by a physician before settings are chosen — melasma is treated differently from sun spots.
Conservative, calibrated protocols that respect the higher post-inflammatory pigmentation risk in darker skin tones.
You'll hear a realistic range for your pigment type upfront — and if pico isn't the right tool, you'll be told before you pay for it.
Our Iskandar Puteri clinic is roughly 30 minutes from the Singapore checkpoint; pico laser is also available at our Singapore clinics.

Common questions
Pico laser is priced as a doctor-planned course rather than a single session, so the cost depends on your pigment type, the treatment area, and how many sessions your skin realistically needs. We do not publish prices; after diagnosis your doctor gives you a personalised, written quote with no obligation to proceed. Many Singapore patients find the overall course cost in JB meaningfully lower — WhatsApp us a photo of your pigmentation and we can usually explain what your course would involve within minutes.
Often 4–8 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, depending on pigment type and depth. Lighter sun spots may respond faster; melasma usually needs the full series plus maintenance. Your doctor will monitor progress and adjust spacing or settings between sessions.
When performed by an experienced physician with appropriate settings, pico laser is commonly used on Asian skin types. Careful assessment and conservative settings reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is more common in darker skin tones. Results vary by individual.
Most patients return to their routine the same day. You may see mild redness for a few hours, and treated spots can temporarily darken before they fade. Strict daily SPF is essential throughout the treatment course.
Melasma is chronic and influenced by hormones and sun exposure. Pico laser may help lighten it, but maintenance, sun protection and supportive skincare are ongoing, and recurrence is possible without consistent care. Your doctor will set realistic expectations before treatment.
Many of our pico laser patients travel from Singapore. The JB clinic in Iskandar Puteri is roughly 20–30 minutes from the Tuas Second Link, and sessions are short enough to fit a half-day trip. If you'd rather be seen in Singapore, we also offer pico laser at our Tanjong Pagar and East Coast clinics — the choice is yours.
