HIFU Cost in Singapore: What Actually Determines the Price

Two HIFU quotes can differ several-fold in Singapore. This guide explains the factors behind the spread — area, shot count, device and doctor involvement — so you can compare like with like.

Why HIFU quotes vary so much in Singapore

HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) delivers focused energy to the deeper support layers of the skin — commonly the SMAS layer that surgical lifts tighten — to stimulate collagen over the following months. Because the treatment is delivered as discrete energy lines across chosen zones, the 'dose' differs enormously between sessions that share the same name.

That is the core reason quotes differ: one clinic's 'full face HIFU' may mean several hundred lines across brows, cheeks, jawline and submental area with doctor-performed delivery, while another's may mean a smaller zone with a fraction of the lines. Neither is automatically wrong — but they are different treatments, and comparing their prices directly tells you very little.

Mechanism

Treatment area

Jawline only, lower face, full face, or face plus submental/neck — each step up adds zones, lines and time.

Mechanism

Line / shot count

The number of energy lines delivered is the closest thing to a 'dose'. More coverage means more lines.

Mechanism

Device class

Different ultrasound platforms differ in cartridges, depths available and per-use costs — which flows into pricing.

Mechanism

Who performs it

Doctor-performed treatment and doctor-planned mapping cost more than delegated protocols — and it is worth asking which you are quoted for.

What a proper HIFU quote should spell out

A quote you can actually evaluate answers four questions: which zones are treated, roughly how many lines are planned, which device is used, and who performs the treatment. It should also state whether a review is included — HIFU results develop gradually, so a planned review is part of responsible care rather than an upsell.

Be cautious with headline prices that only make sense once you are in the room. Common patterns include quoting a small zone as if it were the full face, quoting a minimal line count that the clinic then recommends topping up mid-session, or quoting a different device class from the one advertised. None of these are necessarily improper — but you want them disclosed up front.

Sessions, longevity, and cost over a full plan

Most patients are treated in a single session with results developing over two to three months as new collagen forms, then maintained with a session roughly every 9 to 18 months depending on age, skin laxity and goals. Cost is therefore better judged across a year of care than per appointment.

This is also where an honest assessment protects your budget: if your laxity is beyond what HIFU can address, or your concern is volume loss rather than laxity, a doctor should tell you so before you spend anything. HIFU is a tool with a defined job — not a universal answer to aging.

How DrPlus approaches HIFU pricing in Singapore

At our Singapore clinics in Tanjong Pagar and East Coast, HIFU begins with a doctor assessment of your skin laxity, facial anatomy and goals. The treatment plan — zones, line count and whether HIFU is the right tool at all — is set by the doctor, and the quote follows the plan rather than the other way around.

If you are comparing options, our HIFU service page explains the treatment itself, and the consultation is where your individual plan and its cost are confirmed. There is no obligation to proceed after an assessment.

— Frequently asked

Common questions

Usually because the quoted treatment is smaller than it sounds — fewer lines, a smaller area, a different device class, or delegated rather than doctor-performed delivery. Ask what is included before comparing prices; the spread narrows a lot once quotes describe the same treatment.

Often yes for a given round of treatment — results then develop over two to three months and are commonly maintained with a session every 9 to 18 months. Your interval depends on age, skin laxity and goals, which is assessed individually.

Not by itself. Price reflects area, line count, device and doctor time. The result depends on whether the plan matches your anatomy and whether HIFU is the right tool for your concern — which is what the doctor assessment establishes.

They do different jobs: HIFU tightens by stimulating collagen at depth, threads provide mechanical support, and fillers restore volume. Which is 'worth it' depends on whether your concern is laxity, sagging or volume loss — a consultation sorts that out before any money is spent.

DrPlus sees patients at SBF Center in Tanjong Pagar and The Flow Mall on East Coast Road. A doctor examines your skin laxity and goals, confirms whether HIFU is suitable, and sets out the plan and cost before you decide anything.
