Botox Treatment Areas for the Face — A Guide
Which areas can anti-wrinkle injections treat? This overview maps the common facial areas, what each one addresses, and links to a deeper guide for each — so you know what's what before a consultation.

How to think about 'areas'
Most anti-wrinkle treatment targets dynamic lines — the creases that appear when a muscle moves repeatedly, like frowning or smiling. By relaxing the specific muscle, the line above it softens. That's why areas are described by the muscle and the line it creates, rather than by a generic 'face' treatment.
The map below shows the areas people ask about most. It's a simplified guide, not a menu — which areas (if any) suit you is decided at a consultation, because facial movement and goals differ from person to person.

Common areas anti-wrinkle injections treat
- 1Forehead linesHorizontal lines from raising the brows.
- 2Frown lines ('11s')Vertical lines between the brows.
- 3Crow's feetLines fanning from the outer eyes.
- 4Bunny linesLines across the top of the nose.
- 5ChinDimpling ('orange-peel') of the chin.
- 6Masseter (jaw)Jaw muscle — slimming, not lines.
A simplified guide only — not every area suits every person. Which areas are appropriate for you, if any, is decided at a doctor-led consultation.
The upper face: forehead, frown lines & crow's feet
The upper face is the most commonly treated zone. Horizontal forehead lines come from raising the brows; the vertical '11 lines' (glabella) come from frowning; and crow's feet fan out from the outer eyes when you smile. These are classic dynamic lines, which is why anti-wrinkle injections are often a good fit here.
These areas are frequently planned together because they interact — relaxing one can affect how another moves. Our forehead, frown and glabella guide goes into detail on the upper face.
Mid and lower face: bunny lines, chin & mouth
Lower down, smaller and more selective treatments are possible: 'bunny lines' across the top of the nose, dimpling of the chin ('orange-peel' texture), and the muscles that pull the mouth corners down. These are more nuanced areas where conservative dosing matters, because the muscles here are also used for everyday expression and function.
Because the lower face is so expressive, a careful, light-handed approach is essential — and some of these areas aren't right for everyone.
The jaw: masseter (a different goal)
The masseter is the chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw. Treating it isn't about lines at all — it's about gradually slimming an enlarged muscle to soften a wide or square lower face, and it often eases teeth-grinding too. Because the goal and technique differ from facial lines, masseter Botox has its own dedicated page.
Which areas suit you?
There's no universal answer, and 'full face' isn't a target in itself — the aim is to treat only what genuinely benefits, conservatively. A doctor assesses your facial movement, the lines that bother you, and what a natural result looks like for your face, then recommends areas (or advises against treatment).
If you're researching a specific area, follow the dedicated guide for it. When you're ready, a consultation maps it all into a personalised plan.
— Frequently asked
Common questions
Common areas include forehead lines, frown ('11') lines between the brows, crow's feet at the eyes, bunny lines on the nose, the chin, the muscles pulling the mouth corners down, and the masseter (jaw) muscle for slimming. Which areas suit you is decided at a consultation.
Not as a fixed package. A good plan treats only the areas that genuinely benefit, conservatively — not every area by default. The aim is a natural, refreshed look, so 'how many areas' is decided by your face and goals, not a menu.
The upper face — forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet — is the most commonly treated zone, because those dynamic lines respond well to muscle relaxation. Suitability still depends on individual assessment.
No. Some areas, especially in the expressive lower face, aren't right for everyone and need a particularly conservative approach. A doctor will tell you honestly which areas are appropriate for you, if any.

Forehead lines, the vertical '11s' between the brows and the glabella are the most-treated upper-face areas. Here's what anti-wrinkle injections do here — and how to avoid the frozen look.
